Özgür & Ömrüm

First things first, let’s talk about the venue. The Amsterdam Tower isn’t your typical wedding location. Nope, it’s a sky-high paradise overlooking the entire city, the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony. And as if that wasn’t cool enough, they’ve got elevators that double as disco and karaoke machines. Imagine going up to your wedding ceremony in an elevator belting out “I Will Survive.” Talk about making an entrance!

Our lovely bride, Ömrüm, was the epitome of a natural classic beauty. The dress was a masterpiece crafted by none other than the bride’s cousin. That’s right, folks – a family affair of fashion! And with a second dress for the evening, Ömrüm totally stole the spotlight.

Now, let’s give some credit to the groom, Özgür, who took wedding planning to a whole new level. As a man with many talents, he decided to add wedding planning to his skill set. And damn, did he pull that off. They chose to let the ceremony, dinner and party take place at the same space. So as you can imagine, it’s a big logistical challenge to change settings while keeping about a 100 guests entertained. Not for Özgür (and the team of vendors who worked their butts off).

The entertainment lineup was like a musical buffet. Two bands, one with a Turkish flair and another featuring some of Özgür’s old schoolmates, ensured that everyone’s musical taste buds were satisfied. And who can forget the traditional Turkish dance with the drum and a flute while the cake was served? It was like stepping into a cultural kaleidoscope.

Musical wise it didn’t end there. Ömrüm surprised her husband with a stunning performance (he didn’t see that one coming!). And later that evening Özgür took a turn as DJ, because – did we tell he is a man of many talents?

During the party the room was transformed into a dancefloor extravaganza. For Özgür, a day without a disco ball is a day not fully lived – and he has a tattoo to prove it. So naturally, he got a colossal disco ball to light up that dance floor and we are so here for it!

In the end, Ömrüm and Özgür’s wedding was not just beautiful and pretty; it was a downright blast. Love was in the air, and so was the spirit of disco. If there’s one thing we learned from this wedding, it’s that when Dutch and Turkish roots come together, you get a fusion fiesta that’s as unique and unforgettable as the couple themselves.
